Sunanda has been in the media for over a decade. She has launched two twenty four hour news and current affairs channels and has produced numerous live shows.
Sunanda started freelancing for All India Radio while a student and began her career with Zee News as a correspondent. After which she joined Aaj-Tak, TV Today Network as core team member that launched the news and current affairs channel in 2000. At Aaj Tak she launched the morning show, produced and reported for human interest and health shows. Special segments post 9/11 attacks were also handled by her. From Aaj Tak she moved to Star News to launch the channel in 2002. At Star News she was the producer for all special shows on assembly and state elections, financial budget, rail budget and the year enders. She also produced the week night primetime show 'Khaas Baat'. She has been the consultant news editor for steelkingdom.com.
Sunanda has worked as a one man unit and shot, written, edited and produced news capsules and documentaries. Her eight minute documentary on adoption has been awarded the best documentary of the year at IIMC. She has a creative hand and her poems and stories have been published in leading newspapers, journals and magazines. Fluent in Hindi and English, she has also translated from Hindi to English for Jnanpith and Dreamland Publications.
Sunanda has earned a masters degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi and has done electronic journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi
